On Thursday 3rd July we took a team of Year 5 children to participate in the Year 5/6 Peterborough Cricket Tournament at Peterborough Town Cricket Club.
The tournament began with a group stage and we were placed into a group with 3 other schools. In our first match we faced West Town Primary Academy and won 93-72. Next up was Paston Ridings Primary School and once again the children were successful claiming victory with a score of 67-55. Thanks to these results the final group game left us knowing that we would qualify for the final with another win and this is exactly what the children achieved with a staggering 120-30 win against Oakdale Primary School.
This meant despite being a year younger than a lot of the opposing teams our children had made it into the final. They showed real determination and teamwork but narrowly missed out in a very close match, which meant that we finished in 2nd place overall.
Well done to the whole team who all performed excellently!
