World Book Day 2021

Despite some children being in school and some children being at home, this year we managed to celebrate a brilliant World Book Day here at Winyates Primary School.

The day kicked off with a live assembly led my Miss Brundle. She tested our knowledge through an excellent reading quiz using Kahoot. This meant that all of the children could take part at once, no matter where they were and our fantastic Reception children stood above the rest to clinch 1st place!

Throughout the day children attended live lessons dressed as some of their favourite book characters and shared their favourite books. There was a real love of reading seen as the children described why they had chosen these books and characters.

Prior to the day children had been challenged to decorate a potato to show their favourite character and they did not disappoint with some fantastic creations being submitted.
