Year 6 Evacuee Day at Stibbington

This week we also had a wonderful evacuee immersion day at Stibbington. The outfits were amazing and the children really got into character. After 'arriving' by train from London, we walked from the station across the countryside. We stopped at various points on the way to show different children which houses they would be staying in. In the middle of a wartime writing and arithmetic lesson at the schoolhouse, the siren went off and we had to evacuate to a nearby air-raid shelter. Lunch was an authentic choice of jam, cheese or spam sandwiches! The whole class had tremendous fun playing with wartime toys at break and we finished off the day completing our identity cards.
