Waterproof Materials

In Year 1, the children have been thinking about what makes a material waterproof. They have tested out different materials by observing water droplets on their surfaces. Now, they are trying to use this knowledge to make waterproof hedgehog houses, the children will bury them outside on Friday and check after half term to see if the inside has stayed dry! They have also been thinking about the story of The Lorax and have really understood the impact that the Once-Ler had on the different animals in the story, this is what inspired us to make hedgehog homes!
