National Sports Week - Day 1&2

Our sport week has kicked off brilliantly with all children learning about the upcoming Tokyo Olympic and Paralympic games through our Monday morning assembly. Children from all year groups were able to identify a wide range of sports, which showed excellent knowledge.

Within our lessons Year 1 enjoyed working with a Chance to Shine Cricket coach, before Year 5 learnt how to play NFL American Flag Football. Monday then ended with Year 3 taking part in Archery before the Year 4s completed the Miles to Tokyo challenge. The day then ended with Year 4 club taking part in some Archery, while the Year 1 club played football.

On Tuesday lots more classes took their turn in the challenge with all children in Reception, Year 1 and Year 5 showing excellent determination to succeed. Finally, our Year 2s thoroughly enjoyed working on their Scooter skills, as well as learning how to play the Paralympic sport of Boccia.

We are looking forward to the rest of the week but here are some photos of how we have got on so far.
