Mrs Bowles

Head of School

As a young girl, I loved school and decided quite early that I wanted to teach. I was 10/11 and it was my then teacher who inspired me: he was funny,  interesting (and really strict) and he made every lesson amazing. I knew then that I wanted to do that too! I worked hard to achieve my goal... I have always loved to read - I devoured books and my family got very used to finding 'piles of books' in every room that I was reading. So it seemed natural that I would specialise in English. I have remained passionate and driven about both teaching and reading over the many long years I have been teaching. It is my greatest pleasure to talk about books and stories with children; to read their writing and to see their faces 'light up' when they master something they couldn't do before. I truly believe that we all have a dream inside us, and if we work hard toward it, we can achieve anything and everything.

Mr Colley

Acting Deputy Head of School,
Year 6 Class Teacher and Acting SENCo

This will be my tenth year in teaching and I could never imagine doing anything else! From an early age I enjoyed being part of a team and loved helping people, so teaching was always the perfect job for me. I studied Sports Science at University and enjoy competing in crossfit when I’m not spending time with my family and friends. I’m so excited to be a fully fledged member of the Winyates family.

Mrs Joubert

Assistant Head
and SENCo

Following in the footsteps of my mum, I knew that one day I too would become a teacher. I was truly inspired by her love and dedication to working with children. Once I became a qualified teacher and my career began to develop into the role of the SENCo, I realised that there were children who required a little bit of extra support and I wanted to be the person to help make a difference in their lives. I feel truly privileged to work alongside our parents, teachers and wider professionals, but most of all our children.

Mrs Rawlinss-Found

Reception Class Teacher

My name is Mrs Rawlins-Found  and I will be in the Year 2 team in September. I love to read books and those who know me will know that Harry Potter is one of my all time favourites! Disney films are something else I enjoy, especially Finding Nemo, The Jungle Book and the Emperor’s New Groove. In my spare time, I like to crochet blankets and toys and bake (eat!) cakes. My favourite lessons are numeracy and art and I love to read children’s creative writing.

Miss Mason

Reception Class Teacher

After teaching within EYFS for 14 years and I still have a continued passion for helping young children take their first steps as a learner. It is so rewarding to help make a difference in children's lives – seeing them enthusiastic and motivated about each new experience. I aim to inspire children to become curious about their learning within a nurturing environment for them to thrive in. I am looking forward to joining the ‘Winyates family’ to continue to give children endless opportunities to become lifelong learners.

Miss Brundle

Year 1 Class Teacher

I have wanted to be a teacher since I was young; I loved Primary School and never wanted to leave! My favourite thing growing up was reading and I particularly enjoy sharing my love of reading with all the children I get to meet here at Winyates. I love teaching here and I can not imagine having any other job!

Miss Brundle

Mrs Walton

Year 2 Class Teacher

I genuinely believe I have the best job in the world! I fell into teaching whilst providing sporting opportunities to children in the community and I have never looked back. I started my teaching career as a PE teacher at St John’s before deciding to move into the classroom seven years ago. I am fascinated by children's curious minds and I am continuously blown away by their capabilities and resilience. Knowing that I am contributing to a small part of their development is a privilege. As a mum of two energetic boys I am continuously kept on my toes and I like nothing more than standing on the sidelines of a football or cricket pitch at the weekend. Each Monday morning when I walk through the door at Winyates I am excited by what the week may bring.

Miss Meehan

Year 2 Class Teacher

I am a fifth generation teacher and I genuinely believe that education has immense power to transform lives. As a child I emigrated from Australia to the UK, and I had amazing teachers who supported me throughout this transition and my education, pushing me to achieve academically and inspired my confidence and resilience. As a teacher I want to emulate this quality of care and support I had throughout school. I am so excited to start my journey into teaching at Winyates this year.

Mrs Proud

Year 3 Class Teacher

I love seeing children develop as they realise their potential, becoming confident and independent as they take on new challenges, whether in or outside of school. In my previous career I volunteered as a reading buddy and a governor at my son's school which is when I realised how wonderful it was working with children, watching their curiosity and learning grow so I decided to retrain and become a teacher.  I am determined to give the children in my class the best opportunities during their time with me at school. I am always inspired by how much we learn from them too as we see how they show kindness, courage and determination every day.

This will be my first year at Winyates and I can't wait to start a new adventure with Year 4. I am so excited to join this lovely school and be part of the Winyates family. I love reading therefore I can’t wait to share my passion for books with you all. In my free time I love to bake and spend time with my family and friends. I can’t wait to see all your lovely faces and I look forward to teaching you!

Mr Carter

Year 5 Class Teacher & Science Lead

I have been with the school since leaving the army 6 years ago and I love being part of the 'Winyates Family'. The children make the job one of the most amazing things I have ever done.  I am really pleased and excited to be able to complete the journey with the children who I taught last year because I feel that we have so much more to offer each other and being together next year will enable us to finish our journey together, through these difficult times. Outside of school, I love football and I support the Canaries (Norwich City), I also like to try and play golf.

Miss Marriot

Year 6 Class Teacher

I always dreamt of being a teacher. As a child, I used to love playing “schools” with my younger siblings. I would boss them around and give them mini-tasks to do. I remember even making them run laps of the garden for PE! I then studied dance at university and trained as a dance teacher. It was then I realised that I didn’t just want to teach dance but I wanted to teach everything! Working with young people/children is the best as every day is full of curiosity, excitement and awe. Out of school, I still enjoy dancing and teach dance to a competition team. I also enjoy all sports but netball is my favourite!

Mrs Davey

Year 6 Class Teacher

In my previous career in politics and communications I loved helping people progress and was always mentoring younger staff.  While volunteering as a sports coach at my children’s primary school, I realised I wanted to retrain and teach full time. I volunteered at Winyates and was inspired by the children. I joined the team in 2021 and feel privileged to be helping Year 6 prepare for secondary school.

I adore reading, languages and am inspired by the natural world. Friends would describe me as a sports nut - I played hockey for 20 years and am now a keen runner and yoga enthusiast.

Mr Carson-Doughty

PE Team Leader, Educational Visits Coordinator & Extra Curricular
Clubs Coordinator

I have been teaching PE at Winyates since 2011 and thoroughly enjoy seeing the progress our children make. Sport and physical activity are so important for all children and I am keen in developing a love of this in everyone I teach. In addition to this, I especially like taking the children to tournaments where they always make me proud.

Finally, my love of sport continues outside of school where I play for the City of Peterborough Hockey Club.

Mr Pilinski

PE Coach

I have been teaching tennis at the City of Peterborough Tennis Club for a couple of years and have enjoyed it very much. I believe that sport is very important in staying fit and healthy and I am very happy to teach it. Adding to that, I am a fan of football and love to watch it as well as playing it for fun.

Finally, I love to see the improvement of children and find it very rewarding to know that I had a contribution to that progress.

Miss Rose

Forest School Lead

I spent most of my childhood making a mess both inside and outside the house. My face and hands were usually streaked with paint or mud or something just as fun.  I feel very lucky that this hasn't changed much!
I'm an Artist, Storyteller and Forest School Teacher. I work to engage people with stories, art and nature in new and exciting ways.
As a Forest School Teacher at Winyates, I get to see a different side to our children when they are outside. I relish the opportunity to help people make a connection to our environment and fall in love with the outdoors as well as learning about themselves in a different kind of way.
When I'm not climbing trees and building Dens,  I am making a mess in my own Art Studio, travelling to Festivals to tell stories or hiding away somewhere with my Labradoodle Fenrir, and a book.

Mrs Clarke

Assistant SENCo

and Occupational Therapist

As a Children's Occupational Therapist, Sleep Practitioner and Assistant SENCo I support the children in lots of different ways!

I absolutely love my job- being able to support the learning, participation and development of the children is so very rewarding.

I work very closely with all of the school staff, enhancing their knowledge of the children in their class, and how Occupational Therapy can support them.

Previously I was a Teaching Assistant for 9 years, and through this role I discovered Occupational Therapy, and had no doubt that I wanted to work with children. After qualifying from University I worked in the NHS, before joining the "Winyates Family" 5 years ago. I am very proud to be part of such a great team.

I have always been fascinated in children and learning. I have worked in schools and colleges for the last 15 years but my real favourite is Primary school so I consider myself extremely fortunate to have my job at Winyates which I enjoy so much. We all have so much to cope with in this modern world it's more important than ever to understand how we feel so we can manage our emotions to enable children to live, learn and Thrive!

I have two children of my own that keep me quite busy when I'm not in school, I also love to cook, run and be with my family.

I joined the Winyates team in 2012 and have worked with children in classes across the school and am now privileged to be supporting our families in the family liaison role. I have three of my own children so I know the many highs and lows of being a parent and what a wonderful but often challenging job this can be. I love being able to build strong relationships with our parents and carers, working in partnership to achieve the very best outcomes for our children!

I’ve always known that I wanted to work within a caring and nurturing position so as a past parent of winyates I was delighted to be offered a position as a pupils 1-1, that was nearly 23 years ago.
